Human Resources
Under limited supervision, responsible for coordinating the administrative details of employee benefit programs including: Medical/Rx, Dental, Life/Accidental Death and Dismemberment, Short and Long-term Disability, 401(k), and hourly full-time Sickness & Accident program.
1. Maintain legal compliance as it relates to ERISA, FMLA, ADA, IRC and other employment laws. This includes but is not limited to Plan documents and tracking/reporting. Research benefit related employment issues and recommend/communicate revisions to procedures as needed.
2. Assist in managing external relationships with brokers, third party administrators, networks, 401(k) providers, and insurance providers.
3. Assist in coordinating benefit program renewals involving Sun Communities and respective parties: Third Party Administrator, Agent/Broker, Insurer.
4. Report internally as necessary: self funded programs, fully insured programs, compensation and 401(k).
5. Assist with administration of Sun's compensation programs including the annual merit increase process, incentive pay plans and the holiday bonus programs.
Job Requirements
A minimum of five (5) years related human resources experience. Minimum 3 years of experience administering employee benefits with at least 1 year working with a multi-state, multi-divisional, 200+ employee organization.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Must possess strong communication skills both verbal and written and have the ability to interact in a positive and approachable manner with all levels of personnel. Must be highly analytical, attentive to detail and well organized. Must have excellent computer skills (preferable experience with Excel and Microsoft Word) to be able to create, design, and maintain databases and spreadsheets. Has ability to research topics on the internet. Must be able to handle multiple projects.
Bachelor's degree in Business or Human Resources or equivalent,
